FAQ
Animechain: what's changing
Animecoin is moving away from operating our own chain and concentrating development on Arbitrum One. The Animecoin Foundation is focusing on collect.anime.xyz, our platform for physical anime collectibles with onchain ownership. If you hold $ANIME on Animechain, withdraw it to Arbitrum One before the deadline below. If you hold NFTs on Animechain, see "I have NFTs on Animechain" below.

Questions
What is happening to Animechain?+−
Animechain will stop operating on January 8, 2027. You can move $ANIME between Animechain and Arbitrum One until 23:59 UTC on January 7, 2027. The explorer (explorer.anime.xyz) will stay online in read-only mode until April 8, 2027, so you can look up past transactions.
Why?+−
We're focusing our efforts on collect.anime.xyz and $ANIME as the culture coin for anime. Running our own chain isn't needed for that, so we're concentrating development on Arbitrum One, where both already operate.
What is collect.anime.xyz?+−
A platform for real anime collectibles. You can open packs of professionally graded cards, keep them securely vaulted or have them shipped to your door.
What does this mean for $ANIME?+−
$ANIME continues as the culture coin for anime, on Arbitrum One. $ANIME held on Arbitrum One is unaffected. New uses for $ANIME will be announced when they are live.
I have $ANIME on Animechain. What do I do?+−
Withdraw it to Arbitrum One before 23:59 UTC on January 7, 2027. You can use bridge.anime.xyz or the native Arbitrum bridge at portal.arbitrum.io/bridge.
I have NFTs on Animechain. What do I do?+−
NFTs created on Animechain can't be bridged to Arbitrum One. Each NFT project on Animechain will share its own plan with its holders in the coming months, so check with the project that issued your NFT.
For example, collect.anime.xyz plans to re-mint its NFTs on Arbitrum One and send them to the wallets holding them when Animechain stops operating.
How long does a withdrawal take?+−
Withdrawals through bridge.anime.xyz are usually fast: seconds, or longer when the network is busy. Withdrawals through the native Arbitrum bridge take longer. Start early so your withdrawal completes before the network stops operating.
Do I need anything to withdraw?+−
Yes: a small amount of $ANIME on Animechain to pay gas. If you don't have any, bridge a small amount of $ANIME to Animechain at bridge.anime.xyz first, then withdraw everything. Only bridge in what you need for gas.
If you use the native Arbitrum bridge, you will likely also need a small amount of ETH on Arbitrum One to claim your withdrawal.
What if I miss the deadline?+−
Withdrawals you start before 23:59 UTC on January 7, 2027 can still be claimed on Arbitrum One after the network stops operating. $ANIME not withdrawn by then will no longer be reachable.
I built something on Animechain. Who do I contact?+−
Active builders have been informed to the best of our knowledge. If we missed contacting you, please reach out to [email protected] and we'll help you plan your move.
Where can I get help?+−
Open a support ticket in the Azuki Discord. Moderators there can walk you through withdrawals. We will never DM you first or ask for your seed phrase.
